Getting A Mortgage in Tenerife

Obviously to buy property in Tenerife, you are going to need to arrange a Tenerife mortgage. The figure quoted is per 5,000 Euros borrowed.

Mortgages for buying a property in Tenerife are available for both residents and non-residents of the Canary Islands, a bank here will lend up to 60% of valuation. We would point out that banks here do not value the same as in other countries and therefore the valuation figure might not reflect the actual purchase price.

You will need to provide the bank with proof of your income and outgoings to show that you will be able to meet the repayments. This is usually in the form of tax returns or business accounts for the previous 3 years.

Your Spanish property will be held as security against the loan, and a charge will be registered in the Property Registry.
