There are eleven days left before the end of daylight saving time on 28th October 2012. Mornings will become lighter earlier and the evenings will become darker sooner and before we know it Christmas, New Year and Reyes will be upon us.
This is a time of year that for the majority of Europe sees people withdraw into a state of hibernation. Curtains are drawn at 6pm and the central heating thermostat begins to climb. This is of course the case for the majority of Europeans, but not for us who are lucky enough to live in Tenerife or for those who own Tenerife property.

 Tenerife and the other six Canary Islands are blessed with a very favorable and pleasant climate. Yes, it does occasionally rain here and there can be the odd blustery few days here and there, but after ten months of cloudless skies and temperatures into the high teens and above the majority of residents here are slightly thankful of it.
Although the nights may draw in, it is very rare that temperatures reach anywhere near single figures and as for central heating the closest many of us get here is getting the duvet out for it annual two month usage before things begin to heat up again.

A fantastic climate, stunning scenery and the whole relaxed way of life on this charming island are certainly some of the big factors that inspired you to move to Tenerife in the first place. This is why investing in property in Tenerife is such a good move to take.
There have been some difficulties over the last few years. Property prices, along with most other things, became over inflated  and this did create a problem in enabling first time buyers to get onto the property ladder in Tenerife.

New and improved ferry services between the islands have been implemented and visitor numbers are once again on the increase. New frontiers such as the former Soviet Union are now open and there has been a dramatic increase in holiday makers and tourists travelling here from areas of Eastern Europe.

 Tenerife property sales have changed slightly. People are still buying and selling property in Tenerife such as houses and villas that are valued in excess of €1,000,000 but we have noticed an increase in interest in smaller and more economical properties which is very encouraging for the industry and the island of Tenerife.
Not only are current residents of Tenerife buying studios or buying apartments, but additional money from the rest of Europe is being released into the economy of the island.
The initial panic at the beginning of the recession and the subsequent double dip is now being kept under control and people from across the whole of Europe are beginning to remember why so many people choose to buy property in Tenerife in the first place and what a shrewd move it actually is.

The majority of non residents who buy property in Tenerife do so with the approach that they take at least one foreign holiday abroad every year. More often than not they holiday in Tenerife and then decide that as a long term investment, buying an apartment in Los Cristianos for example, is a worthy investment.
